Let us guide you around this famous and rightly popular challenge hike. Whether you do it for a charity close to your heart or you would just like to complete it for yourself or as part of a group then we’ll support you all the way.

Yorkshire 3 Peaks suggested kit list ●
- Waterproofs – Jacket and trousers ●
- Boots hiking broken in. No trainers! ●
- Walking Socks extra pair in rucksack ●
- Walking Trousers or Shorts (Jeans and cotton T-shirts not suitable) ●
- Small personal first aid kit- (group leader will carry a larger kit) ●
- Spare warm layer ●
- Hats and gloves- 2 lots ●
- Head torch ●
- Rucksack
- Rucksack cover ●
- Facility to carry 2 litres of water bladder or bottles. ●
- High energy food, treats, snacks, lunch
Extras you may want: ●
- Walking Poles ●
- Sunglasses ●
- Sun cream ●
- Map of the area (Ordnance Survey Explorer OS2) ●
- Power Bank and cable to keep mobile phone charged.
Roadside support is available at 2 stops along the route so you don’t have to carry everything you can do a bag drop at the start with extra food and clothing. Extra water will also be available.
There is a café on route, but this gets very busy and can really eat into the walking time so best to carry everything you need or leave with the support vehicle.
Yorkshire 3 Peaks Itinerary
- 6:30 am start outside the Station Inn Ribblehead, Low Sleights Rd Carnforth LA6 3AS. Roadside parking around the Station Inn
- Walking in an Anti clockwise direction via Whernside, Ingleborough, Horton in Ribblesdale, Pen-y-ghent and back to the Ribblehead Viaduct.
Checkpoint Time from start point (Approx)
- Whernside 2 hours
- Old Hill Inn 3.5 hours
- Ingleborough 5 hours
- Horton In Ribblesdale 7 hours
- Pen Y Ghent 8.5 hours
- RibbleHead 11 hours
Aim to complete in under 12 hours.
Breaks of around 1 to 1.5 hours total.
This is a challenge walk.
